Looking into ripping out my weed infested yard and starting fresh, either this fall or next spring/summer depending on the grass type. I am in Denver and legacy buffalograss has me intrigued. My yard is full sun and I'd love a grass that uses much less water. Going brown/dormant isn't an issue but weeds are.
Is buffalograss more prone to weeds forming/spreading that KBG or fescue? Also, does it come back just as strong or more dense in the spring when growth starts back up or does it take some time to thicken back up? Generally, is it a good turf type for low maintenance once established?
